'Silver Darlings' - 9th February 2005 - Programme of Events
- 'Silver Darlings' - Showing of British Film Institute's famous 1940s Black and White film. One hour.
- Kipper and tatties sit down meal (sausages and haggis pies for those who do not care for kippers) and Traditional Scottish Fare buffet service.
- Wick Heritage Society - Film footage of 1937 Herring Queen and coopers making herring barrels.
- Film footage of Rural Voices Consultation focus groups and gatherings through out the nine months: from Grizzly Park Fun Day in July to Haddie Hoolies in November 2004. Ongoing display.
- Displays of collaborative work created by the community and five artists:
a) Rag Rugs Sally Orr
b) Ceramic tile panels Jenny Mackenzie Ross
c) Memory Book Joanne Kaar
d) Skipper's Seat, Liz O' Donnell
e) Photographing Surviving siblings, Fin MacRae
All artists will be present
- Questionnaires. If you have a story to tell us about the bombing, war time and your childhood.
Please write down your story or if you prefer we will record it on tape. Please do not feel shy, your story, not matter how small, is important to us.
