ABOUT THE THI

The Lower Pulteneytown Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) 2003-2008 is an economic regeneration plan. It relies on opening up the area to new businesses and enhancing the visitor experience.
The Community strategic vision states In 2010 the area will be a colourful, vibrant mixed use location, with the very valuable heritage vested by Thomas Telford, fully restored".
Regeneration requires a range of Catalytic Projects, in Lower Pulteneytown these will include:
- New office and business space.
- Development of Museum Facilities.
- New Housing for Rent.
- Enhancement of the Public Realm.
- Private Housing.
- Workshops, studios and specialist retail outlets.

- Marketing the business and the tourism potential of the area raising awareness of its history and distinctiveness.
The THI is administered by a Multi Agency Partnership lead by The Highland Council; Caithness and Sutherland Enterprise, HIE C&S; Communities Scotland and The Lower Pulteneytown Community Heritage Assoc.
